You're doing the right thing and I'm not disappointed at all! I'm always amazed by your bravery to tackle all the challenges that you do; it's honestly super inspiring. I agree with you on changing the book cover. Excited to see the upcoming revisions and additional chapter. :) Actually, as of now, I'm cleaning up the prose of The Mirror Queen so I'm hoping I won't have to make a 2nd Edition version, but we'll see lol
And this is why I learned during my fanfic writing years, don't post/publish until the entire story/series is complete. Had to write myself out of a hole once and decided to always post after completed.
You are so right! I’m trying to give myself grace that this is my first series that I started writing in 2007 (sheesh). But yes, lessons learned. It’s part of the reason I’m doing it serially now. It’s not cannon until it’s on Amazon 🤣
I did a second edition on my first series as well (The Ardwellian Chronicles). The biggest difference: mine was complete at the time. I did very little rewriting, just a bit of clean up, but I ended up with four new covers and refreshed the other two. So in my opinion, yes do what's right for the series. But an explanation in the forward of the book might be helpful for readers who have read the previous version.
I think a change of cover is a great idea.
I think so too! I’ll keep the same theme but for clarity’s sake I think a change is in order

I feel for you. My deepest empathies.
