After struggling with what to do with my series, I have made a dramatic decision: Fissure of Worlds, book 3 of the series, is as we speak being pulled from retailers.
The reason is I will be rewriting the end of it. The last two existing chapters will be rewritten and there will be an additional chapter added to bring the book to a close.
THIS WILL BE PUBLISHED UNDER A 2nd EDITION
That way, there will be no confusion. Book 4, Treason of Fate, is still in the works and will conclude the series.
Obviously this isn't ideal for those who have been following along with the series, but it needs to happen to make a cohesive story.
Self-publishing offers a lot of freedom but sometimes it also facilitates hasty mistakes, which it certainly did for me.
I hope this isn't too big of a disappointment; I hope when the series is done, you will agree with me that this was the best decision.
Do you think I should change the cover for the 2nd edition? Maybe just change the color grading?
I think a change of cover is a great idea.
You're doing the right thing and I'm not disappointed at all! I'm always amazed by your bravery to tackle all the challenges that you do; it's honestly super inspiring. I agree with you on changing the book cover. Excited to see the upcoming revisions and additional chapter. :) Actually, as of now, I'm cleaning up the prose of The Mirror Queen so I'm hoping I won't have to make a 2nd Edition version, but we'll see lol
